7' Whale Tail "fish shape" hollow Red Cedar/Sitka Spruce surf board with matching wooden quad-fin setup.
This board is specially made for the festival featuring a whale tail shape in the top deck made from contrasting Western Red and Yellow Cedar. The bottom deck also features Western Red Cedar and Sitka Spruce and matching glassed on quad bonzer style fin setup. The board is finished with 4oz S-Glass and Silvertip Epoxy and has an overall weight of this board is appox 12#. All these details fail to highlight the balance between function and beauty achieved in this surfboard. The board is a one of a kind piece of functioning art that applies old-school wooden boat building techniques with contemporary performance surfboard shapes. It is made from locally harvested indigenous species wood and is by virtue a more sustainable environmental choice than foam. Handcrafted locally this board will make a wonderful conversation piece whether it's in the water at Flo or the feature piece of any art collection.
