And the winner is:
Each year we send out requests for entries into our Whale Festival Artist contest for the next year. This year, we received entries from all over Vancouver Island and the decision was difficult but a winner has been selected. And that name will be published here along with a bio of the winner, pending notification. Thank you to all for your entries.
2021 Poster Artist:
Congratulations to the artist selected for the 2021 Poster: Rebekka Lim
Rebekka has lived in Ucluelet for over 13 years and is a business owner within the community. She started painting when she moved to Ucluelet with her husband and 2 children, and has sold many pieces in the area.
Up until late 2014, Rebekka painted murals, chalk boards and commissioned wall art professionally. She also taught art classes to children and adults of all ages. When the family started their business, art became a lesser priority, but Rebekka still finds time to pursue her love of creativity, painting everything.
Rebekka’s medium of choice is acrylic on canvas, but she has enjoyed bringing old items back to life with art. Some of these include recycled surfboards, old windows, furniture, musical instruments (including pianos and guitars) and mosaics.
Rebekka is a lover of art and the enhancement of art on the West Coast and we are very pleased to feature her art on the 2021 Pacific Rim Whale Festival official poster.
